Human lives are like glass.
There's a million different ways to break them.
But once the pieces are scattered across the floor, it's hard to put together.
Rebuilding a window from it's pieces will always leave cracks.
Because of that, the window won't work as well.
And even if it does work... you'll often get cut trying to rebuild it.
But what if there was a way to bypass that?
What if there was a way to rebuild that window known as life perfectly?
And when you rebuilt that window, you didn't get cut?
Now let me simplify that question, to something short for you to understand...
Who doesn't want to be immortal?
Rules
1. Universal rules-- don't control other people's characters, no Rule 34, you know, that kinda stuff.
2. As implied by that omnious, metaphor-loaded opening, characters who gain elements in this roleplay are immortal, and can only be killed by the leaders of the element teams. However, in the case of characters who can be killed in normal circumstances, permission is needed to kill them.
3. To prevent this from becoming too chaotic, there's a limit of 30 characters per roleplayer.
4. You are allowed to take canonically dead characters.
5. There is no character board.
6. Have fun!
A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Elements and the Elemental Prism
So, you've never heard of the Elemental Prism, right? That makes perfect sense, since I only used it in a long cancelled crossover roleplay made on a wiki designed for the roleplay, and a recent roleplay on another wiki, in which characters weren't immortal.
So, I've decided to elaborate on this system, right here. Lucky you.
The General Stuff
The most notable feature about elements is that any elements is near immortal; this is because their heart has been replaced with pure magic, glowy stuff, and their blood now corresponds with whatever element they are. (For example, fire elementals bleed fire, and water elementals bleed water.) This can be incredibly devistating, like bleeding lightning or magic, or this could incredibly useless, like bleeding water or light.
Fire
Fire is one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is represented by the color red. Fire spectres are attracted to people who are energetic or fiesty, however, they are also attracted to people who have been burnt and/or are currently in a fire. Gaining the fire element will replace the fire elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into fire, turn their eyes red, orange, or gold, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted red.
The fire element is the most dangerous element, even compared to shadow, which is usually mistaken for the most dangerous element instead. Fire elementals, if somebody attempts a killing blow on them (stabs them through the heart, breaks their neck, etc.), splashes a flammable liquid on an open wound, or even just ticks them off enough, will burst into flame and form into a pile of ash. A few hours later, this ash left behind will reform into the fire elemental, who will be fully healed.
Earth
Earth is one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is represented by the color orange. Earth spectres are attracted to people who are serious or confident, however, they are also attracted to people who are currently in a cave and/or are currently experiencing an earthquake. Gaining the earth element will replace the earth elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into highly fertile dirt, turn their eyes orange, brown, or gold, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted orange.
The earth element is the complete opposite of the fire element; instead of being the most dangerous element, they are the least dangerous. The best they can do to you is attack you by summoning a spire of rock, or if they're especially strong, a spire of crystal. Do to being the opposite of fire elementals, they have a bit of a special power when they come in contact with a fire element as they "combust." By patting the fire elemental on the shoulder, they can stop them from bursting into flame, and if they've already burnt to ash, they can make them automatically regenerate or make them take longer to regenerate.
Lightning
Lightning is one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is represented by the color yellow. Lightning spectres are attracted to people with a lot of energy, however, they are also attracted to people who are stuck in storms and/or have been struck by lightning. Gaining the lightning element will replace the lightning elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into electricity and plasma, turn their eyes yellow, gold or gray, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted yellow.
Despite being referred to as lightning elementals, and having powers based around storms and thunder, lightning elementals are known for one strange ability of theirs; they can manupliate people's emotions. Most lightning elementals can only make people forcibly fear them, however those who've been with the lightning elementals for a very long time can change other emotions. They cannot manupliate a water elemental, however, since water elementals can only feel happiness.
Nature
Nature is the one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is represented by the color green. Nature spectres are attracted to people who are peaceful, however, they are also attracted to people who are currently in a forest and/or are currently holding a plant of some sort. Gaining the nature element will replace the nature elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into ivy, turn their eyes green, lime or teal, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted green.
Nature elementals, alongside the obvious flora-based powers, get powers based off fauna, too. Most notably, they can speak the language of another species, and animals are attracted to them. However, things can get kinda creepy after a while. Eating fruits and vegetables can actually cause said fruits and vegetables to start growing in your body, and it notably weakens your immune system, meaning you can get plenty of nasty diseases.
Water
Water is one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is represented by the color blue. Water spectres are attracted to people who have experienced great pain, however, they are also attracted to people nearby water. Gaining the water element will replace the water elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into water, turn their eyes blue, cyan or turquoise, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted blue.
Once someone has become a water elemental, they are literately unable to feel negative emotions; emotions like sadness, anger and fear are converted into happiness. This makes water elementals completely immune to a lightning elemental's magic, however, this also means they have a hard time taking situations seriously.
Wind
Wind is one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is represented by the color indigo. Wind spectres are one of the only spectres not attracted to people by their personality, and are the only spectres who cannot be attracted to people by their current condition or location; instead, wind spectres are carried around by the wind, so the only requirement for someone to become a wind elemental is for the wind to be blowing onto them. Gaining the wind element will replace the wind elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into wind, turn their eyes indigo, blue or turquoise, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted indigo.
Wind elementals are often considered the opposite of lightning elementals. They, just like lightning elementals, are mostly known for their control over storms. And while wind elementals can control thunder, they are very bad at it compared to lightning elementals. However, like the lightning elementals, they have a bit of control over emotions. Notably, if a lightning elemental manupliates somebody's emotions, wind elementals can reverse this effect, something that most lightning elementals cannot.
Magic
Magic is one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is represented by the color violet. Magic spectres are attracted to anyone with great knowledge in the unknown, which can range from people who are archaeologists, or the absolute masters of the magic arts. Gaining the magic element will replace the magic elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into magical energy, turn their eyes violet, purple or magenta, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted violet.
As soon as somebody becomes a magic elemental, the magic that has replaced their bloodstream will enter the brain. This will usually cause the elemental to gain great magical abilities, and if they already know some magic, these magical attacks will become much stronger. This also comes with the added bonus of gaining a ridiculous amount of knowledge about the cosmos. Depending on the person, this can either be a blessing or a curse.
Light
Light is one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is one of the two elements not represented by a color within the rainbow, instead being represented by the color white. Light spectres are attracted to people with a relation to the sun or daytime. Gaining the light element will replace the light elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into very bright light, turn their eyes white or pale gray, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted white.
When somebody becomes a light elemental, they become "one with light," per say. Because of this, their skin will start glowing in the dark, nocturnal animals will fall asleep when they're around, even when it's nighttime, and the light elemental will become unable to feed upon any substance besides light and fire. Since light and fire obviously can't be harvested, this means they must eat objects with light or fire within them, like a lightbulb or a lit torch for example.
Shadow
Shadow is one of the many elements in the Elemental Prism, and is one of the two elements not represented by a color within the rainbow, instead being represented by the color black. Shadow spectres are attracted to people with a relation to the moon or nighttime. Gaining the shadow element will replace the shadow elemental's heart with pure magic, transform their blood into literal darkness, turn their eyes black or dark gray, and if they have fur, the fur will usually be tinted black.
When somebody becomes a shadow elemental, they become "one with the shadows," per say. Because of this, lights will heavily dim in their presence, diurnal animals will fall asleep when they're around, even when it's daytime, and the shadow elemental will become unable to feed upon any substance besides plasma, for that's what stars are made of. Since plasma obviously can't be harvested, this means they must eat objects with plasma within them, like a URL drive.
